Venue websites
Quandoo has closed. What to change on your venue's website before 31 December
Kassem Kazal · · 3 min read
Quandoo's tools for restaurants stayed available until 30 September 2026. From 1 October its consumer services ended and restaurants can no longer handle bookings through it, and its website, app and systems come down by 31 December 2026. If your venue used it, check every place a guest can still press "book" and make sure each one goes to your new booking system.
Here is the checklist I'd run.
1. Every booking button on your website
Look in the header, the home page, the menu page, any event or functions pages, and the footer. Most venue sites have the booking link in more than one place, and it's easy to fix three and miss the fourth. Click every one on your phone, not just your laptop. Plenty of people book from their phone, and some sites show a different button on mobile.
2. Your Google Business Profile
Check where the reservation button on your Google listing goes. Google lets owners add, change and remove booking links themselves, and pick a preferred one. If a provider added a link automatically, Google says providers must remove it within 5 days of a removal request. Ask your new booking provider whether they connect to Google directly, and set their link as preferred.
3. Everywhere else a guest can book from
Instagram link in bio and the action buttons on your profile. Facebook. Pinned posts and highlights. Your email signature. QR codes on printed menus, table cards and window decals. Any listing site you set up years ago and forgot about.
4. Existing bookings and guest data
Quandoo said confirmed reservations made through it would be honoured, and that its support team would help partners export their data before the final shutdown. Its partner tools closed on 30 September. If you didn't export your guest list and upcoming bookings, contact Quandoo support now; its Australian site lists service.au@quandoo.com and asks for contact by 31 December 2026.
5. What people find when they search your name
When Quandoo's pages go, someone searching your venue's name plus "book" should land on your own site, with a working booking button, your hours and your menu. If your site can't do that today, that's the gap to close before the Christmas rush.
The bigger lesson
Booking systems change, merge and close. When they do, the venue that can change its own booking links in a few minutes barely notices. The venue that has to email a developer and wait loses bookings in the meantime.
That's the reason the sites I build come with their own back office: you change the booking link once, from your phone, and it updates everywhere on the site.
