Case study · Yoga studio

Northside Yoga runs its bookings, credits and passes inside its own website.

A boutique Iyengar yoga studio on Sydney's Upper North Shore was tracking class credits and bookings by hand in a spreadsheet, next to a ten-year-old WordPress site. Since April 2026 its students book and pay on the studio's own site, and there is no booking software subscription.

    The studio before

A ten-year-old website, and a spreadsheet doing the real work.

Students could buy class credits online, but credit balances and bookings were managed by hand in a spreadsheet. The usual way out is a rented booking platform: a monthly fee, and the member list kept on the platform's side. Franziska wanted neither.

    The brief

    What she asked for.

“No booking software subscription, for this studio, ever.”

“A custom-coded site designed around the studio, with class bookings handled inside their own site instead of manually or through a rented platform like Mindbody.”

    From Franziska's Clutch review

She also wanted to run the site herself. Six months after launch, in her words:

“I can easily update my timetable and add workshop announcements myself, even though I’m not a very technical person.”

    From Franziska's Clutch review

    What was built

A studio website with the studio system inside it.

Students book and pay on the studio's site.

Class passes are bought through Stripe on the site itself, and the credits go onto the student's account. Stripe's processing fee is the only per-transaction cost.

    Sign-in without passwords.

Students sign in with a magic link or a six-digit code sent to their email.

A timetable that knows the term.

Classes sit inside the studio's term dates, each with its live spots, and credits are tied to the term.

    Cancellations that look after themselves.

Students cancel within the studio's rules, and Franziska can cancel a single session. Credits go back automatically.

    Private sessions with a quote.

A student asks for a private session, Franziska sets the price, and the system sends the quote with a payment link.

A back office she runs herself.

The roster, adding a student by hand, adjusting credits, the finance view, the timetable and workshop announcements, all in her own admin.

Built for phones and for search.

Designed mobile-first, with structured data, a sitemap and pages written to be read by search engines and AI assistants, including a dedicated Yoga Wall page.

The shop and the newsletter, in the same site.

An online shop and the newsletter sign-up live inside the studio's own website.

    From the video

This one client that I did a website for was a yoga studio, and she has a full booking platform, credits, member system, everything embedded, created in her website, custom built.

    Launch

Live on 4 April, on time for Term 2.

The January proposal set one date: live for the start of Term 2. The site went live on 4 April 2026 with the handover documents, and the first class of the new term ran on the new booking system. The first weeks brought the fixes any new system brings. Franziska flagged each one clearly, and each one was fixed, usually the same day.

    Six months on

    What changed, in Franziska's words.

These are the outcomes Franziska listed in her review of KASS Digital on Clutch in October 2026, quoted as she published them.

    8 weeks

“Monday evening class reached full capacity within eight weeks of launch, with lapsed students from previous years returning.”

    AI search

“AI search visibility: a new private-session student found the studio through an AI chat assistant, which recommended Northside Yoga for personalised, traditional yoga.”

    +12%

“Google Search impressions grew from 1,210 in August to 1,360 in September 2026 (+12%), with 93 clicks in September.”

    69% mobile

“Mobile-first build paying off: 64 of 93 Google clicks in September (69%) came from mobile, the experience the site was designed around.”

    Local search

“New local discovery: ‘yoga in hornsby’, ‘hornsby yoga’ and ‘yoga wall ropes’ were among the fastest-growing search queries in September, the last driven by the dedicated Yoga Wall page.”

    Same day

“Fast support: issues reported by the client were typically resolved same day, e.g. a class pass credit fix in 15 minutes and a timetable fix in 26 minutes.”

    No lock-in

“Client owns everything outright: full code (GitHub), database (Supabase) and documentation handed over, with no platform lock-in.”

    No subscription

“Replaced manual spreadsheet admin with automated bookings, credits and payments, and no recurring booking-software subscription.”

Quoted from Franziska Thiele's review of KASS Digital on Clutch, 17 October 2026. Results for one studio. No ranking, booking numbers or AI recommendation is promised for another site.

    In her words

    Franziska's review, in full.

Kass Digital - New Website for a Yoga Studio

I had a wonderful experience working with Kass from Kass Digital to create my new website for a yoga studio.

From our very first meeting, Kass made me feel comfortable with his friendly personality and approachable manner. He listened carefully to all my ideas, requirements, and preferences, and took the time to understand my business and how I work. Whenever something needed clarification, he made sure he fully understood what I wanted.

Throughout the development process, Kass was responsive, patient, and excellent at explaining things in a clear and easy-to-understand way. The project was completed within an excellent timeframe, and I absolutely loved his first design idea straight away. He has a great eye for colour, style, and those little details that make a difference.

One of my favourite features is the built-in booking system. No expensive subscriptions to complicated booking platforms! I can easily update my timetable and add workshop announcements myself, even though I’m not a very technical person.

Kass clearly loves what he does, and it shows in his work. He has created a stylish, modern website that is not only beautiful but also practical and easy to manage. He is also very supportive if anything comes up after the website has launched.

I can highly recommend Kass Digital to anyone looking for a beautiful, professional website with great personal service and ongoing support. Thank you, Kass, for making the whole process such a positive experience!

    If you run a studio

Northside took eight weeks. Your rebuild takes two.

Northside was the first studio built on this system, so the booking engine, the credits and the admin were designed and built from scratch, from February to launch in April, and refined in the months after. The Studio Rebuild runs on that same system, with your own design and content around it. That is why it takes two weeks from the day I have your logo, photos, timetable, pass prices and Stripe account.

    The offer

    The Studio Rebuild

    $6,000 + GST · Two weeks

For studios paying every month for booking software and still managing credits in a spreadsheet. $6,000 plus GST, once. Two weeks. Two months of search setup included.
